What does AlbaSoie do to the skin and how?

AlbaSoie contains licorice extract, Glabridin and Alpha Arbutin (Bearberry extract). All three ingredients are tyrosinase inhibitors.

What is tyrosinase?

Tyrosinase is an enzyme that converts tyrosine to melanin. Melanin is the pigment that gives dark colour to the skin. The more melanin in the skin, the darker the skin becomes. So less tyrosinase leads to a lighter skin.

Black skin has up to 10 times more tyrosinase activity and produces up to 10 times more melanin (dark color) than white skin. (1)

Upon exposure of the skin to UV radiation (sun), darkening of the skin) is initiated with the first step of tyrosine oxidation through an enzyme called tyrosinase (Vámos, 1981).

Why is AlbaSoie different and more effective?
